Rooted in History: In 1892 George Schrade designed, developed and patented the first ever push button automatic knife, truly setting the knife world on fire and becoming known by many as the "Father of the Automatic Knife". George later started the Schrade Cutlery Company in 1904 and dedicated all of his time to working to build upon his cutlery and the Schrade name. Over the next 4 decades, George continued to add innovative and useful designs for hardworking customers before passing away in 1940. George left the cutlery industry much better than he found it and the Schrade name will live on forever because of the long days & nights spent in the factory perfecting his craft. Schrade Knives are Rooted in History.
Ready for the Future: Schrade made a major comeback to the knife industry by completing a full rebrand and commitment to quality. We have revolutionized our lineup to offer a good, better & best assortment, ensuring all knife enthusiasts have viable options from Schrade. Most importantly, we have brought some manufacturing back to the USA with our Alpha Class and select Beta Class Sku's.
Within our commitment to quality came a commitment to using upgraded materials in both our blade steel & handle materials. For our blade steel, we have broadened our steel offering to S35VN, D2 & our new blade steel minimum for knives, AUS-8 & AUS-10. Also, new to Schrade are handle materials such as Forged Carbon Fiber, Micarta, G-10, Aluminum & Steel. A vision has been set forth for Schrade. Not a new vision but the same vision that George Schrade set long ago. One that focuses on quality and craftsmanship. One that refuses to give up when the going gets tough.
